Corrections

Accuracy matters to us, and vehicle-history rules and provider details change over time. If something on the site reads wrong or out of date, let us know which page and what you believe is incorrect, and we'll look into it and update it if needed.

What we can and can't help with

We're an independent guide, not a report provider or a government office, so there are some things we simply can't do:

• We can't look up or pull a vehicle history report for a specific VIN on your behalf — a report provider does that.
• We can't change, correct, or issue an official vehicle record — that's handled by your state's motor vehicle department.
• We can't provide information about a vehicle's owner or any person — our guides are about vehicles, not people.

For a report on a specific vehicle, use a report provider. For title, registration, or record matters, contact your state's motor vehicle department.
